Narnia Popular Down Under

The Sydney Morning Herald pop culture blog is running a piece on films that are particularly attractive to Australian audiences. A number of box office grosses have been tracked to provide rankings. “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” turns up trumps, coming in at number 9 in the longevity stakes, and number 2 in the top grossing films of the past 18 months. It is the only film that succeeds in appearing on both lists, essentially making it one of the most successful films playing in Australia in recent years. Read the complete lists here.
