Greta Gerwig made an appearance in a star studded Super Bowl commercial Sunday evening, promoting the food delivery app ‘Uber Eats’.
The extended TV spot features Matthew McConaughey pitching the idea of a food-based NFL conspiracy theory movie to director Greta Gerwig:
The advert serves as another reminder to the Narnia fan community that Greta Gerwig is now very much a full-blown member of Hollywood’s A-List, and that Narnia will certainly not be struggling for the limelight over the next two years.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Forbes about the advert, Greta discusses some of her current favourite food hangouts in London, and mentions the importance of finding the time to eat meals with friends and family whilst working on “pre-production and rehearsals”. She also mentions how she was excited to finally be starting up regular group dinners with some of the cast and crew of her latest project:
“With the project I’m working on now, we’ve just started on the group dinners and it’s wonderful.”
With Greta Gerwig’s Narnia set to film from July to December this year, it is unlikely they will have a TV spot of their own ready in time for next year’s Super Bowl. However ‘Narnia’ is on course to cross paths with the NFL once again on Christmas Day 2026, when Netflix is scheduled to live-stream at least one NFL game, alongside the home premiere of Gerwig’s long awaited first Narnia film.
LOL, I just posted about this in the previous Talking Beasts post.
Sounds like All the cast and crew have been hired already, seeing as they’ve already started the group dinners with them. I hope Timothy Dalton is cast as Aslan, he has a wonderful voice and is a little nostalgic to Liam Neeson.
why can’t wait
Yes this next 21 months will go very slowly! Bring it on!
Pretty cool they thought Gerwig has enough recognition to be a big part of this advertisement. I guess her appearance in her Barbie/Dua Lipa music video helped aid in this (plus all the social media stuff for Barbie).
