Will Poulter (Eustace) Joins Marvel Cinematic Universe
Will Poulter, who played Eustace in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie, has been cast as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Normally, when rumors of a new casting make their way across the internet Marvel is quick to deny it. This time director James Gunn confirmed the rumor on Twitter.
Adam Warlock is a powerful superhero that first appeared in Marvel comics in the late 1960s. Do you think Will Poulter is a good fit for this character?
Thanks to “Just Queen, not High Queen” for sending a spy report!
Will Poulter is a great fit for the role of Adam Warlock! The was he portrayed Eustace in The Voyage of The Dawn Treader was absolutely spectacular! In fact, when I was watching it I was honestly thinking I was in the movie and right next to him because it was so lifelike the way he acted. He would be perfect for the role of a great superhero.
Will is definitely an unconventional choice for Adam Warlock, but still a really great casting decision, as it’s hopefully a good indicator that they intend to do something interesting with the character.
Will’s already had a pretty stellar post-Narnia career (things like The Revenant as stand outs) but getting a major role in a Marvel film really does cement his position at the top tier of Hollywood.
I love the fact that I only learned about this because one of my back-to-back classes ended early and I happened to see it on Facebook. Then, I saw this post only about two hours later, so this is the fastest spy report turnaround I have ever seen, lol!
Hi, Just Queen. The Talking Beasts Podcast is going to do some commentary on the old BBC adaptation of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I know you’re probably not going to like some of what they’ll say since they dislike the VDT movie and you like it, but I really hope you’ll comment anyway. The reason is that I know you dislike the BBC VDT and I’m interested to hear why. While I’m not exactly an enthusiastic fan of it myself (if I can be called a fan of it at all, that’s it), I don’t remember much about it that was outright bad, especially compared with the BBC PC, which was really lame. I’m honestly interested in hearing your criticisms. 🙂
I liked Will in The Voyage of Dawn Treader, then in Remnant, The Maze. The Warlock was one of my favorite superheroes. So, it will be great to see him as Adam Warlock. I think he will fit into the role.
Congratulations to Will Poulter!
Oh, are the Talking Beasts going to cover the ol’ BBC VDT? I finally got to watch it for the first time this summer. I actually thought most of it was good, but then they lost me at the rubber snake head. Ha. (There are so many ways they could have done that better.) Well, that and the not getting to see any of the school children actually fight one another (probably because that’s not something most folks want to direct!) It’s almost like they ran out of money. Maybe that’s actually the case?? *chuckling*
Anyway, I was also pleased for Mr. Poulter when I saw casting news elsewhere, only to find it here as well. (Good job on the speedy turnaround, Narniaweb!)
