My parents read me the Chronicles when I was a child and all through my growing-up they lived large in my imagination. When I heard in 2003 that a big-budget film was being made, I thought it would be exciting to build a little fansite with some information about the movies. The community and resource that NarniaWeb has become is one of my greatest joys. – Tirian

My mom read the Narnia books to me when I was a little girl and they were some of the first books I owned because I adored them so much. When the Narnia movies were announced in 2003, I found NarniaWeb shortly thereafter, and immediately became as involved as I possibly could, which was pretty involved. Ha! And as a result, these seven books by C.S. Lewis have played an extraordinary and amazing role in my life. – Fantasia

My grandfather wrote his dissertation on C.S. Lewis. I was instantly hooked when I read Narnia around age 11. No other stories awaken such a yearning in me for something “beyond the edge of the world.” So, when I heard movies were on the way, I felt excited… but also protective. I viewed the filmmakers as temporary custodians of something that means so much to me personally. NarniaWeb (and later, YouTube) gave me the perfect platform to share my hopes and concerns about the films. – Glumpuddle

I was a particularly voracious reader growing up, so my mum quickly passed her childhood books on to me. Among them was The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I fell in love with it – and then I discovered there were more! Since then I’ve read each book in the series countless times. As an adult, I’ve enjoyed Lewis’ other works – Perelandra is a favourite – but Narnia holds a special place in my heart with its wonderful characters and stories of faith and hope and love. – AJAiken

(LB)
I was introduced to Narnia via the BBC and Focus on the Family Radio Theater adaptations (on VHS and cassette!). I was young enough I was probably sent to bed before we got far into The Magician’s Nephew, but I distinctly remember being entranced with the audio description of the Wood Between the Worlds. I finally read the books when I was ten and fell in love yet again. I continue to be drawn to C.S. Lewis’ works in my adult life because he is one of the few authors that so thoroughly encaptures my own longing for something bigger and better than ourselves beyond this world. – Dot

I first encountered The Chronicles of Narnia (alas, in chronological order!) when I was 11. Since then, my love for Narnia has grown stronger with every passing year. The stories are bottomless: there is always something new to discover with each re-read. My gratitude toward C.S. Lewis also continues to grow. Along with his literary hero George MacDonald, Lewis has been indispensable in strengthening my faith, and his stories always fill me with hope and the longing for one’s true home. Further up and further in! – Rose

The Chronicles of Narnia have been the bedrock of my creative life. C.S. I’ve loved the Narnian chronicles since my father first read them to me when I was around seven. The stories of children exhibiting bravery, chivalry and honour made an enormous impact on my life. Since then I have hoped against hope that someone would film the entire series. I first heard rumors back in 2002 that someone had acquired the rights and was planning to begin production within the next couple of years. – Rilian

After looking at the cover, I was not interested. That is how my relationship with Narnia began. Fortunately, I was convinced to endure the first chapter of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe anyway. It was not long before I finished all seven books. Years later, I joined NarniaWeb during the anticipation of Walden’s film The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Through this website, I have met delightful people who have become lifelong friends. I know from personal experience that stories are able to enrich your life in unexpected ways, and I can, in this case, confirm the old adage: “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” -Movie Aristotle

My Dad and I read the books together when I was really little. We started out with him reading the books aloud to me, and by the time we finished the series I was reading them to him. Then, when I was eight years old, the Walden “Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” film came out, and I loved it because I connected to Lucy so much and it looked amazing. I also love Edmund because his story is so simple yet profound; his was one of the first redemption arcs I ever experienced. I’ve loved Narnia ever since. – Ginger Faun
