Will Poulter Wins BAFTA
Will Poulter, who played Eustace in 2010’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, is this year’s BAFTA Rising Star winner. Congratulations, Will! See the fill list of winners.
The 21-year-old appeared in Weโre the Millers last year alongside Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis. Will he reprise his role as Eustace Clarence Scrubb in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair? The character is 9-years-old according to C.S. Lewis’ timelime.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping he would win! He is such a talented actor. Congratulations, Will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His acceptance speech was soo awesome! Congrats Will!
Good work Will Poulter. Congratulations. Hope to see you in the next Narnia.
Congratulations to Will!
well done Will but your WAY too old now.
To be honest, the Narnia films have made everyone roughly 5 years older at any given point. Will Poulter can pass for 18 easily and can use a little effect to make him a little younger. Nobody wants recasting, or the majority don't, so they shouldn't do it. If they want the franchise to kick off and continue, they should pay attention to the fans. Charlize Theron should definitely be the green witch/Lady of The Green Kirtle.
Congratulations! Eustace Scrubb! ๐
Eustace could not have been portrayed any better! Congrats, Will!
I really hope Will Poulter can return as Eustace, but even if he doesn't for Silver Chair, maybe he could return for Last Battle, if Lord willing, that movie gets made? What do you think?
I am glad Will got this award! However, I think that he is waaaaay to old to play eustace in the silver chair.
That doesn't make any sense. The problem with Poulter is that he's to old to play Eustace in the silver chair, never mind the last battle.
Congratulations, Will. ๐
In the Last Battle, Eustace and Jill are six-seven years older than in the Silver Chair, so maybe he could.
But that would look completely ridiculous! Having one actor for VDT, another for SC, and then having the original actor come back for LB. It wouldn't do
And a most deserved award too! Congratulations!
Well, he already looked older than 9 in VDT – like a young teenager. Is age a central them of the Silver Chair?
And just because he's 21 (or older when the movie is filmed), doesn't mean Eustace has to be portrayed as that old…or any age at all in the script of the film. He can be made to look younger (though not 9, obviously), and of course, act younger – he is an actor, after all.
Elijah Wood reprised a role he was playing (Frodo) as a teenager now in this 30s without any problem.
Impending – correct – the continuity would be closer with Poulter, despite change in age, than to completely recast him. And as stated below, he's an actor – he can act younger, and be made up to look younger as well without any issue.
Hurrah! I voted for him.
I voted so many times that it got ridiculous!
Great point about Elijah Wood! Anyway, it's not like we haven't seen a lot of characters cast way older than they are supposed to be. Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian for example. I just don't want to let Will go. He was so amazing and I want to see more of him!
Agreed wholly.
Has anyone seen Will lately? He's grown like a weed, they're most definitely not putting him in the film. Yes, he did a great job, but accept it, it can't work with Will playing Eustace.
