Narnia.com is No More
It appears that the official website for the Chronicles of Narnia films was taken down sometime in the last few days. “Narnia.com” now redirects to a Facebook page. Thanks to ‘Bulgy Bear’ for the alert.

It's sad to see that everything Narnia seems to be fading away. The series was so popular and yet, now there may not even be another film, at least not for quite some time.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A sign of the times i guess…
I know! I wish that Narnia wasn't fading away too! At least we still have Narnia Web!
Hey, don't feel like giving up yet.
We are just facing the times the Narnians faced in Prince Caspian. Aslan doesn't seem to be here, and the memories of Narnia are being pushed into hiding.
We need to be like Lucy was. I honestly still think that Aslan is with us, and we are going to see the Narnians again, but we just need to follow his call, even if others don't believe us.
We will see Narnia come again some day. Perhaps we will have to wait a few years at the least, but let us not give up hope, as I have repeated several times. Narnia will be restored to peace again. 🙂
What we need is for a director to step up to the plate and make a /proper/ Narnia movie! LWW was great, but PC led to a downward slope that continued with VDT. Love all the movies, of course, but the books are boss!
I'm just glad that Douglas Gresham is involved and that he fought hard for the "another name" line in VDT!!
Agreed. The Narnian Age isn't over yet. With new technology every year, when it's time to do MN, SC, and LB, it will have been worth the wait. Further up and further in!
Nooooooooooo! This is so TERRIBLE!
Narnia will continue on with the books and the movies made. I'm sure that someday another story will be made that has yet to make it to the big screen. 🙂
Patience will one day be rewarded.
You are right. The time will come when Narnia comes back, but I still feel like Peter, "How long do they except us to wait?".
Yeah, that's one to agree with. I just hope Narniaweb and Lion's Call aren't going to follow…….
It's really too bad they took the site down, I would assume it would still be useful for Fox/Walden to market the dvds on.
The books are better than the films, yet I would love to some day make the books into films!
When I first saw the movies, I didn't like them as much as the older Narnia movies. The first one they made was the best so far, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader were fails. Not only do they keep bringing Jadis back into it, they twist the whole story around. The website is of no interest to me since the movies are of no interest to me 🙂
The movies were adaptions. Did you expect them to do the movies word for word from the books?
I most wholeheartedly agree! I grew up reading the books and watching the movies and I will be eagerly awaiting the next film! Further up and Further in!
P.S. Don't mean to copy you Aslan's BFF, but that is one of my favorite lines! =)
Amen to that!
Narnia will not fade as long as there are the books. The books started it and the books will survive even if the sites and movies fade away.
This is terribly sad and incredibly disheartening for the future of the films. A sign of the times indeed.
But, to quote Faramir of 'The Lord of the Rings';
"I do not believe this darkness will endure."
I thought that line was so cheesy and kind of lame sounding.
I am sad that Narnia.com is gone. 🙁
I am sure dvd sales have almost died off now. The movie has been out for Many months and the bulk of DVD sales are usually done in the first few months.
Laugh, laugh. 🙂
Yes. I thought (No offense) that the book Prince Caspian was fairly boring, and the movie was a nice change of pace.
Aslanscountry.com is almost down.
Agreed Hiking.
Were we never told that there are never any endings, just new beginnings?
Guys, if the time for Narnia under Walden is over, it doesn't mean it's over for Narnia period. It just means that it's time for it to rest. Clearly there is more at work here than any of us can possibly fathom. Don't give up hope. Who knows, maybe some time in the future there'll be a new and better Narnia films coming out. Ones that will bring greater glory to the books than Walden possibly could have. We'll just have to wait and see.
This whole fiasco with the Narnia movies seems like a bad dream.
Yes, it is sad. But the books aren't going anywhere. They're the purest Narnia you can get. Classics forever. Media and technology are always changing, going from one thing to the next, but we don't have to worry about the REAL Narnia going anywhere. There's still countless numbers of people that have yet to take their "first step" into Narnia, and all of us can "re-visit" anytime we want.
I'm so glad they put that line in there! It's one of my favorite parts in the book!
I hate to say this, but I really am wondering if there is going to be another Narnia film at all. I, mean, Will Poulter is only going to get older, not younger, and if they wait too long, everyone, (except maybe the Pevensies, since they are supposed to get older anyway), is going to get too old for their parts. It is rather sad that they haven't even got through as many books-turned-to-movies as the BBC did. (The BBC made a movie for The Silver Chair.) I had, (and still have), wanted to see, (in particular), The Horse and His Boy and The Last Battle and The Magician's Nephew, in short, all the other books that no one has tried to put on-screen, into movies. I confess that, about as soon as The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe had set foot in theaters, I was already dreaming about The Last Battle being put on-screen. Well, whatever happens will happen, and I still do hope that someone in the near future will be able to fulfill that dream of mine.
Finally, someone who agrees with me. That book has to be the most boring of the lot, and I thought "how in the world are they going to make a movie even close to interesting from this? It'll be a snooze." But then Andrew Adamson went and made what in my opinion was a very entertaining and exciting movie. For the life of me I cannot figure out why so many seem to hate it.
What I regret the most is that I probably will never see "The Horse and His Boy" being made into a movie. That had potential for greatness, like LWW. Funny how people don't SEE that! Bah.
I agree with you 100% 🙂
I dont know about that, all the films seem to be still available and selling.
The thing is, in publishing there are two sorts of product, the `Huge Blockbuster` which sells massively well for a short period then dissappears, and the `Slow Burner` which dosn`t do so well in the short term but sells more copies over a period of years.
The Narnia books are of the second type, books which have been in print since the 1950`s and still selling and, by the looks of things the same thing is going to be true of the films.
Trouble is, in the film industry its the first type of product that gets all the attention.
It, Im afraid might be an indication of the way things are going that they took this site down without any sort of explanation.
If Walden, or at least somebody in authority working for them has messed up badly and soured the relationship with the Lewis Estate then its a distinct possibility that Walden is not prepared to admit the fact.
So they just ignore it and pretend it didn`t happen and we get this sort of thing.
It's so sad that the films aren't coming now but maybe they will in future years. We still have the books. Most people I know grew with the books and loved them. I'm never going to stop loving them either. 🙂
Maybe films will be made in the future, maybe not, but whatever happens, we still have the Narnia books and can read them any time we want. 🙂
make a petition
With all these new ungodly movies and books coming out theatres and shelves, we need people to start new Narnian sites if others are being shut down emphasizing the books. Remember (especially for you badgers out there) Aslan comes and goes as he pleases. He'll charge up and roar once more (or twice :D)
Yes, yes, YES!!!
We will still love Narnia even if it's not roaring right now like Hunger Games or other less deserving series. We just have to wait until Aslan sends the trees to fight the battle. And then we will shout "FOR ASLAN!" and charge.
P.S. That sounds weird but it's kind of true… 😉
Yes we do. As long as folks continue to be vocal about their love of the series, continue to chat about it and generate interest, there is always hope for another movie, a reboot, or a new adaptation.
i really miss narnia.com but i'm glad i found this website. dose any body know georgie henlys email address? i heard that the magican's nefew is comming out, quinlin
This. Is. Sad. 🙁 Who else thinks all of us should band together and make the movies happen? 😉
If Peter Jackson could do with Narnia what he did with LOTR…
Dreaming, i know…
Of there was a trustworthy Narnia project on kickstarter.com
@peter of charn: cheesy or not, and whatever you believe about the spiritual/religious side of the books, that line is probably the primary motivation for lucy and edmund to leave narnia not to return, and gives a positive light to the fact that their story is done. I don't know of any lines, or plot points that could do it better
its very sad that narnia isnt very popular…..
i love the 3rd movie!
GUYS I WANT SAY THAT NARNIA HAS THE 4 PART WHICH WILL START IN 2014 AND ITS TITLE IS NARNIA AND THE The Magician's Nephew
HEY GUESS WHAT?YOU LIKE NARNIA?THEN GO TO http://WWW.ASLANSCONTRY.COM FOR EVEN BETTER PICTURES VIDEOS AND INTERVIEWS!
I hope they make HHB into a mov. It really deserves it and was the best of the lot. However, since the movies can be different, I wish they would give Aslan a bigger role (except The Magician's Nephew and LWW, these had a lot of Aslan in them).
I wish another book would be made where all the main chars. will fight together against a great evil (all, like Pevensies, Cor, Corin, and Aravis, Aslan, Caspian, Digory, Polly, Tirian, and Jewel) it would be good. Whoever agrees r
Long live narnia i love the movies so much than anyother one
