HarperCollins to Release 75th Anniversary Edition of ‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’

Harper Collins have announced they plan to release a special 75th Anniversary paperback edition of ‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’ this September.
This is in addition to the new cover editions which are set to be released on April 15.
The details of this new 75th Anniversary edition were included in the HarperCollins UK International Highlights catalogue for March-October 2025.
The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe [75th Anniversary edition]
A beautiful paperback edition of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, book two in the classic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia. This edition is complete with cover and interior art by the original illustrator, Pauline Baynes. Four adventurous siblings step through a wardrobe door and into the land of Narnia, a land frozen in eternal winter and enslaved by the power of the White Witch. But when almost all hope is lost, the return of the Great Lion, Aslan, signals a great change… and a great sacrifice
Whilst the catalogue does not feature the final cover art, the description indicates that the cover will be based upon the original Pauline Baynes illustrations, rather than the more recent re-designs by Owen Richardson.
The 75th Anniversary edition is set to release on 25th September 2025, and is priced at £14.99 for the UK market.
A new collected edition, with cover art by Owen Richardson, is due to be released alongside it on the same day, priced at £40 for the UK market.
Ah, some more positive/neutral news in the midst of all the controversy. I hope that we can all celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the 20th anniversary of the first film without any altercations.
I love this! I can’t wait to see the cover art.
I hope these are not limited edition. The cover art on them are so beautiful and would love to have them displayed in my library. Definitely going to go see them in Target here in the USA. I know this is for the UK edition. Why is the UK getting it later?
With this line above: “A new collected edition, with cover art by Owen Richardson,” – – Which cover will it be? I am guessing it will either be the new Lion-Witch-Wardrobe cover that was announced a couple months ago, or a new cover representing the whole series. I hope it is the latter. I’d love to see another cover by Richardson!
I like the cover and the blue and gold cooler scheme
@Jonathan Paravel, the new collected edition with cover art by Owen Richardson can be seen on the official Harper Collins website (via Narnia.com) and is due for release in late October in the USA. Due to the close proximity in dates with the collected edition referenced in this catalogue I’m assuming there will be just one new Collected Edition for both the UK and US markets, however i guess there remains the possibility that there will be two.

Yay! Can never have too many copies of the Narnia books!
I’d buy them in a heartbeat if they’re in original publication order. No interest if they’re numbered chronologically, though.
