Dawn Treader Blu-ray Release Date – April 13?
Last month, we reported that the Walden and Fox were hoping to release The Voyage of the Dawn Treader on DVD and Blu-ray around Easter 2011.
Blu-ray.com is reporting that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be available on Blu-ray, April 13 for Region B.
(Region B includes most European, African and southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand. The USA is in Region A.)
It seems likely that it would be released around the same time for the United States, but thus far, I’ve been able to find anything to confirm this.
Thanks to Rob for the link!
That's just a place holder date from amazon until the studio releases the actual date. Happens all the time.
It's too bad they do not somehow get money every time someone watches the movie at home ๐ Hopefully the sales go well!
Nossa vou comprar, quando chegar aqui no Brasil, Fato que jรก se pode confirmar!
yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will be nice to see it again, but I am not anxious for it to come. I only saw it once in theaters, and the pain is still lingering there. ^_^
I know right? jusst imagine what LWW and PC's total money intake would have been.
Just imagine having to pay every time you watched one of your own DVDs. ๐
YES!!!! *cries with happiness* I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!
April can't come soon enough… thanks Rob! ๐
I hope the DVD will have lots of special features. And I hope I'll like the movie all right. I don't go to theaters so I haven't seen it, but I'm going to buy the DVD. However, I'm hearing so many conflicting reports and I don't know what to think. I hope I don't hate the movie. I want to like it so bad! *Sigh*
See it again, Gem. For me, the first time was okay, but second time was GREAT! I'm not sure why… ๐
Not when there's also cover art, price tag as well as other firm information that we didn't know about. This date is real (for France).
I sure hope that they come out with an extended edition.
WOO HOO!!!!! CANT WAIT TO OWN IT!!!!!!!!
YESS! On the contrary, hopefully, it won't come out in Region B before it comes out to Region A :-/ Hopefully, they'll all come out on the same day!

I sure do hope so! They do count the money that the dvds make in the boxoffice, right? yes, no, maybe so, please let me know!
I found this replica you can buy!! http://www.handcraftedmodelships.com/narnia-dawn-treader–model-ship-16inch.php
Oh I'm sorry you haven't seen it! ๐ There were parts of it I really liked and parts of it I didn't like so well… it's hard to compare it to the first two because the feel of it is very different from them, though not different in a bad way. It's been a month since I last saw it, but I am increasingly more eager to see it again. I rather think it seems unimpressive at first, but then grows on you. So overall I really really liked it. I hope there are lots of special features, too! Especially deleted scenes and bloopers ๐
I WANT AN EXTENDED EDITION.
But I'm fine with the regular DVD too. As long as there's a special double-dvd pack of some sort, like with PC.
AGH can't wait. Hopefully the U.S. one comes out at the same time so I know when to order it from amazon. lol
So is it only coming out on Blue Ray or DVD as well? I'm confused. I don't have a blue ray player yet…
Wow! This may be the first time I will have to live with not buying the DVD the day it comes out! Goodness, I'll have to pre-order it before I go overseas!
yeah, an extended edition would be great!
I get to go my 2nd time this weekend!
He he, J.J. does have a point… shame that money can't grow on trees in /this/ world!
I third this! I heard they left out quite a few scenes, and it would be great to see them!
If that's an accurate date, then that's great because that's the date of my birthday!
Grrrrrrrrr.. 3 days too late for my birthday..
Out on Blu-e-Bay more like! ๐
sweet, i can do Blue-Ray
wow! That seems so soon! I can't wait!! ๐ I'm glad the wait wasn't as long as the PC wait was… ๐ that was forever!! ๐ Can't wait to hear when we get the release! ๐
me too. We might get one, just depends. If we do, it'll be months later *after* the release of this– and an extended release *would* boost the sales too– because I know a lot of us Narniawebbers are wanting one for this particular movie– so it would certainly sell *big* ๐
that's two days for my birthday!
I can ask it! that's what I wan't!!!!!!
I know wikipedia isn't reliable half the time, but on their list of 2011 movies coming out on DVD. Dawn Treader is listed as coming out on March 8th.
I have a great idea: Let's buy all the DVD's then sell them (exept for the ones we keep) on Ebay, then all the money we make should be donated to Narnia! ๐
My B-day is a couple days from now and I'm asking for the VDT soundtrack ๐
What is region "B"?
I hope it is April 13th! Yaaaaay!!!
Is Estonia in the B-region? Please tell me it is ๐ I've seen VDT 8 times in the cinema, but I just can't get enough of it! I can't wait for the Blu-ray <3
Yes, of course it's coming out on DVD as well. ๐

lol! ๐
Ha! that's what america gets for not being a good audience to this great movie!
bummer… ๐
We already know a lot of scenes were trimmed; I do hope they do an extended version release.
March 8th would be GREAT!!!
If they release an extended cut, I'll check it out. I think this could actually be a decent film with an extra 20-30 minutes. As it is: Mediocre (at best) film, terrible adaptation. I don't want it on my shelf.
I wouldn't say anything is official until we get a press release from Walden and Fox. That cover art looks like a mock up to me.
I am waiting to see it again until it comes on DVD. I was just very disappointed in what they did to it, and I don't think I want to pay the ticket price to go see it again. But I do hope I like it better when I see it again.
I hope you like it too, Gem.
I know, it would be ridiculous, but at least it would help with the total money intake.
I do too. I know I won't like it as much as LWW, or maybe even PC, mainly because VDT is one of my favorite books in the series and to see it so changed (and in a badly done way too) was heartbreaking. But it was a good film, even if it was a bad adaption in my opinion. I do hope it grows on me the more I see it and think about it.
Happy Birthday! Hope you get it. Although I'd kind of like to say…was there even a soundtrack for this movie? I mean, there was one sweeping view of the ship in the beginning of the film when the Pevensies have just gotten on board the DT, and there was lovely, epic Narnian music there, just like we are used to. But then for the rest of the film, it was just a mixture of different musical notes that had no real theme or affect on the movie. Sigh…I want HGW back!!
It was a terrible adaption, but I still want it on my shelf, it would have been a very good film if it wasn't a Narnian movie ^_^…but they really did need another half hour or so, you are right. Even so though, I'm not sure if it would have made a difference. I know they had limited time, but maybe with Apted directing, it wouldn't have been good even if it was an HOUR longer.
Ugh now I'm wishing I'd bought a Blu-Ray Player in place of a DVD player when I had the chance. ๐ But anyway let's hope this ends up to be the real date because I really don't appreciate this Maybe-Maybe Not kind of information. >:-( but anyway sounds good….
I mean no offense to Fantasia Kitty I don't mean to her but the way they release these unofficial dates ticks me off *so* much.
Haven't seen anything yet on it. As soon as dvd release dates 2011 are available http://www.filmcrave.com/dvd_new.php will be sure to have it, as I have experienced.
YES! Cannot wait to own it. I hope they decide to release the Blu-ray with a DVD that comes with it.
Terrible?! It was probably the best of them all. The changes that were made to the book all made perfect sense, especially when compared to PC, that was a terrible adaptation.
