Update on Carrie Underwood’s Song for VDT
NarniaFans.com has received word that the song Carrie co-wrote and will be performing for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is called ‘There’s a Place for Us.’
SnowingRoses sent us a YouTube link of the song being performed by a group called EMD. The video is a little out of sync with the music, but you can hear what the song is going to be like if this is indeed the one that will be used. Check it out here.

Wow, this is a very emotional song. It fits Lucy, Edmund, and I think even Peter and Susan even though they can't return to Narnia. I hope it is used.
I don't think there is any doubt that this is the song…there are so many Narnia references…
hmm….it is very nice. i love the emotional side to it, and i actually like how its kind of more about the Pevensies, since this is their last time in Narnia. now that i've heard it, i think it is very beautiful, and i cant wait to hear it sung by Carrie.
I am so impatient for the movie now.

"Somewhere a place for us!" Oh dear. I'm sorry, I really couldn't help myself. That's the first thing I thought of when I read the name of the song.
Wow….um….that's very….poppy….much too poppy for Narnia, in my opinion. And it'll probably be more "poppy" in the movie version….ugh…nice song, just not for Narnia….and I can't hear the lyrics, the music's too loud. 🙁

Oh, and I don't like the saxophone at ALL….I hope that's not in Carrie's version….man, I'm such a Puddleglum about this song…
I think the song is very emotional and it is well suited for Narnia, i also like the saxophone/trumpet It feels like a sense of triumph for the song, I don't know but I really like it ^^
I'm usually not a fan of this kind of music, and wouldn't have gone out of my way to watch it if it wasn't connected to Narnia, but it's all right, I guess. I'm sure Carrie will perform it well, and it could be a lot worse. I just wish it was simpler and didn't have so much background music and beat to it. Sorry, I do think it's pretty 🙂 …I just wish it were a little sweeter and more ethereal, and maybe a little more unique. Still, nice song, even if it isn't totally my style. 🙂

My thoughts exactly. Too much background noise. I wish it was simpler, like "The Call". Not so much your typical pop song. When my sister listened to it, she said, "It's just your typical credit song." And that's exactly what I don't like about it. It doesn't sound like a Narnia song, it sounds like a Disney movie song, something that belongs on the credits for "Bridge to Terabithia". Hopefully it'll be different when Carrie sings it….hopefully. 🙁

"There's A Place for US"? hmmm…doesn't the title sound waaaaay too familiar to the song from Bridge to Terabithia called "A Place for Us."?

I hereby TOTALLY AGREE! The music was a bit… Meh. It's ok, but it still sounds like a seriously typical credit song! Sigh, I wonder how it'll turn out with Carrie's voice. I liked "The Call" better. 🙁

I'm not ,like, thrilled that Carrie Underwood is doing Narnia music. Maybe it's because I'm so attached to the PC music because Switchfoot is my fave band and Regina Speckter rocks.

I like the song but couldn't watch EMD because it was out of Sync!
The song is NOT listed on the Soundtrack neither is Scott Krippayne's "VOYAGE".
Maybe the songs will be part of a 'music inspired by VDT', who knows!?!
Well, I believe that was just the score list. They'll more than likely put this song on as well. 🙂 And I don't believe that "Voyage" is going to be on the soundtrack (if it was that would be GREAT!), and it's not part of a "Music Inspired By" CD. I think it's just a single. 🙁
