Possible New Dawn Treader Banner
Spy reports from several of our watchful members have alerted us to MundoNarnia’s report on the existence of this possible new banner for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Like previous banners and posters, this also features a collection of characters along with the Dawn Treader herself. Oddly, the two oldest Pevensies join the grouping of characters comprised of Edmund, Caspian, Lucy, and Eustace. This banner features the return of Reep to the logo and the White Witch glowering down upon the characters.
The banner’s text is Spanish. Aslan’s Country reports the tagline is translated to: Embark on the journey. Live the adventure. Discover Narnia as you’ve never seen before.
As of this posting, we have no confirmation that this poster is actually an official promotional piece. Keep an eye on NarniaWeb for updates.
It will be very interesting to see how this minor plot plays out. Fan 4 Narnia: I never thought of military boots…but the news that was just posted said the Peter is in America with Susan. I personally would have liked Peter in the military. Queen C the Gentle: Aslan said they won't return to Narnia. Technically speaking, the Dawn Treader isn't in Narnia during the movie so they could return (though it would throw a lot of people off.) But I don't think Susan and Caspian will ever have another change. She is to unstable…always returning and leaving Narnia.
Oh, Aslan's Meadow, that was hilarious. 🙂 I'm sorry but that made me laugh! 🙂 Probably the most reasonable explanation for Peter & Susan's prescene is so that movie goers might recongize it as the same series. I mean, think about it this way, somone only saw LWW and they see this poster (w/o knowing anything about PC) and their like, "Oh Narnia! didn't that have 4 kids?" so they'd count 'em. That's what I'd do if I didn't know any better.
I wouldn't worry about it. Trailers and Posters are all about 'false advertisement.' Remember PC's? It looked like Susan killed the witch in the trailers when she didn't. Don't freak out. Keep calm. Only a little over a month away and all mysteries will be solved. 🙂 I'm just glad they've kept promotional stuff down. PC had TOO much.
Queen C: they're NOT returning to Narnia. Their prescene in Narnian clothes was already explained. It was part of the consequences of Lucy being 'more beautiful'. Think about it, no filmmaker would ever make that big of a mistake. Okay, maybe Adamson might have, but Apted is too good for that kinda of sloppy mistake. They made it CRYSTAL clear Peter and Susan weren't coming back to Narnia, besides their in America (read the latest reports). 🙂

For some reason I don't think Peter is in America. I don't know-I maybe wrong. I would rather him be in the Military. It just seems more like his charater and more like what C.S. Lewis would have written, because when Lewis wrote that Susan was in America, it was to show how she's slipping away from Narnia.
Also, when Edmund tried to join the military, it could be because his dad and Peter were both soldiers.

But I must be a realist, as any Marsh-Wiggle will tell you. Centaurs are much more swift on hoofs than webbed feet, and so I shall satisfy myself to cheer my friend on. As well as Marsh-Wiggles are at cheering that is.
LOVEIT_LOVEIT_LOVEIT!!! hated that grey,muted,outof focus look to the first banner, that dull blue grey look and had lucy with the huge undereye circles- gawd, that was bad. dont sweat the white witch, they probably need a reference to a conflict to make the movie look exciting. and all the kids brings back the good vibe of the first movie. these are the kinds of things u are forced to do in hollywood to convey excitement & urgency to people deciding whether to see this movie or its competitor.
Okay, this is probably unlikely, but this maybe was just some sort of test poster. Maybe there will be a poster/banner like this, but possibly modified so it looks better. This looks like fan art to me, but where would the person get the shot of the humans?
If it looks better than the other ones, it's only because they were so awful. The DT is cartoonish as is the WW. Aslan looks recycled from a poster I remember from LWW. Reep is too big. The only part that I think looks truly professional is the grouping of characters at the bottom.
Major dittos on the false advertisement charge. They've hyped up the presence of Susan, Peter, and the WW since they started promoting the film and it's just going to result in a bunch of irritated film fans when they realize the characters are barely in the film.

The only thing I don't like about the poster is the way the White Witch is presented–it's almost like she's opposing Aslan–like "Aha! Thw White Witch is back to Conquer Narnia! What are you going to do now, Aslan?"….or, "It's Aslan and the Pevensies back on the Voyage of the Dawn Treador…but, oh no! Look, the Evil White Witch has returned to destroy Narnia! What will the Aslan do? What will the Pevensies do? Will she finally conquer Aslan and take over Narnia?"
I don't really like that attitude, because, as has been stated before, it kind of puts the WW on the same level as Aslan–as an opposing equal power–which is actually a belief C.S. Lewis strongly opposed.
I don't think Peter and Susan belong on the poster…but their part is so minor, it doesn't really bother me.
Guess there's nothing left to do but wait for the movie. 🙂
