Props to MundoNarnia for the tip.
hmmm…..not exactly the person I would have picked, but hey, she's got an awesome voice! I want to hear the song so bad now! 🙂
Don't get me wrong, I think the song'll be nice, I just don't like the fact that it's Carrie Underwood….They're just doing it for the publicity, and she doesn't have a very….shall we say, "Magical" voice. I think they're doing this just to cater to the American audience, and that's annoying me. To me, it's no different than if they had Shania Twain, Taylor Swift (perish the thought), or Trace Adkins. I'll try to keep an open mind (who knows, I might really like the song), but right now I'm a bit upset.
I guess I just kind of freaked when I first saw the title of the story. I was like, "Wait, wait, wait….Who da what now?" 😛 I just kinda had to calm down a bit and think things through….
My thanks Your Highness. Your p[osting the answer she gave answers my question.
Ugh! Narnia's not a country movie! It's the exact opposite. C'mon, Fox, you can do better than that.
SO AWESOME!!!! I LOVE CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO DOWNLOAD IT!!!!!!!!!
Ick. Ick. Triple ick. I hate country music.
uhhh………im sorry, but i dont think thats quite fit for Narnia. um, bad idea.
i really wish they'd do a song by Alanis Morissette, or someone that does music that fits perfectly with Narnia (she had done Wunderkind from LWW, which was beautiful and perfect, hint hint)
The songs called "A Place for Us." Here's a group singing it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgnSCDPFj0s It's very pretty! 🙂
It has lyrics like "We can be the kings and queens" and "where water meets the sky" alluding to the book.
What a beautiful song! I cried, maybe it is the song!
I just hope she doesn't belt out like crazy…or sing about hayrides and her boyfriend's tractor.
I don't really think "Ever Ever After" is the kind of song we're hoping for. She's got a great voice, though. I just can't imagine her fitting in with the Chronicles of Narnia.
Of course she won't sing about hayrides or boyfriend's tractors. Let's be fair now. Belting like crazy…that's another matter. Have you ever heard a Carrie Underwood song without a good helping of belting? I don't think

Whoa, random computer glitch there, guys. Sorry about the double posting (and typo).
I'm not a huge fan of Carrie, but I won't judge until I hear the song.
You know, it's hard figuring out which celebs are true Christians and which ones just "play church." I've learned it's best not to let them influence me much, even if I'm a fan of a particular person. I guess I don't really think that much about Carrie U. having a song, just as long as the song is top notch and fits Narnia well. Regina S. accomplished that for for PC.
OMGSH WOW! I LOVE Carrie!!! Can't wait to hear it!!!
Hello guys, i can see most of you aint a big fan of Carrie Underwood, but all i can say is i know she has the package and obviously the vocals to pull off a big song. She is the country version of Celine Dion, and a versatile singer. She can sing in almost any genre and make it sound great. She is a songwriter, the winner of American Idol in 2005, one of the biggest stars in the music industry, what more could you ask for? Maybe you guys can listen to her sample demos in her latest album Play On, the link is below:

She has both the beauty and the voice! I see her as the perfect candidate!
This is one of Carrie's many live performances, singing I Know You Won't. Masterpiece! Have a listen!

I don't really like her music, but I guess she's cool 😛
I like Regina Spektor though (:
The link seems to lead to a blank page. Anyone else having trouble viewing it?
Narniafan. Looks like we have much the same view.
I am simply tired of celebs assuming that so long as they "thank God" when they are accepting awards, and/or sing songs with christian themes it will assure them a christian fan base.
I cannot say that is the case here. I haope not. As the Lord Himself said, we must "know a tree by it's fruit."
This just in from USA Today's Idol Chatter: "According to a tweet from David Hodges, Carrie's song is titled A Place for Us." http://content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2010/10/carrie-underwood-cuts-song-for-narnia-movie/1
Dance 'Round the Memory Tree was my favorite PC song as well.
At least it isn't Justin Beiber!
Narnia fans are SOOOOOO hard to please especially with credit music.
Why is there so much fear of anything that is MAINSTREAM? If we want to see another Narnia movie, it has to make money. To have a commercially successful artist on board is a boost for Fox (hopefully). By the way if you haven't realised, the Narnia films are commercial films.
Dear Carrie, if you're reading this I would like to apologize on behalf of some of the Narnia fans here. I don't think they mean to be rude. Sometimes I guess it's hard to grasp that people in the music industry are real people with real emotions. I think they're just not really thinking about what they're saying and how they're saying it. I think your music is great and I have complete confidence that you put a lot of heart and soul into your song. I can't wait to hear it! Thank you so much for lending your amazing voice to Narnia. I think the powers that be made a good choice in having you do the song. It will be nice to have someone different and unexpected. Welcome aboard!
THIS IS SO AWESOME!!
Like previous comments have said, I don't mind Carrie Underwood–actually, I don't know anything much about her and haven't heard a song knowing it's her singing, so I won't form presuppositions like *she* shouldn't be singing on VDT's credits, but for a fantasy film, it only seems appropriate to have soundtrack or something.
Agh! Don't even speak such blasphemy!!! 😛 Guess I should be counting my blessings…
Yeah, for me, it just seemed like Enya would be a perfect choice for Narnia. Her voice and music would fit in seamlessly. Maybe they're just trying to avoid being linked to LoTR at all in people's minds. 🙂
Anyway, Carrie's a good singer too, but I just don't think she's as good a fit. Still, I'd rather have her than quite a few other people they could have picked, so I guess I'm pretty satisfied. Still, Enya would have been so amazing… Sigh. 😉
I'm a huge Carrie fan, and though I would never have thought to associate her with Narnia, I'm sure she'll do the song justice, and it'll bring a lot of publicity to movie.
Hm, I hope her song is good. Country?. . .That would be new and interesting for Narnia. . .
