UK 10-16 Year Olds: Win a Trip Aboard the Dawn Treader
Thus far, the competition to win a trip aboard the Matthew (decked out as the Dawn Treader) has been held in Italy and France. Now it’s open to kids and teens in the UK.
To win a week’s sailing on the magnificent ship The Matthew, off the magical coast of Cornwall, for you and an adult, all you have to do is answer the question [provided]. The competition is open to 10-16 year olds , and you must be able to travel between 30th Aug and 6th Sept 2010 and as it’s being filmed you must agree to be filmed and appear on Five TV. Not only that but we’re also throwing in two tickets to the The Voyage of the Dawn Treader film premiere! But hurry up as the closing date is 22nd August 2010.
The competition is being done in association with Channel 5 news. The official website to enter is here and the Channel Five news website for the competition is here. Good luck to everyone who enters!
Thanks to daredevil for the heads up!
That is so cool!!!!! Unfortunately I live in the U.S. Wonder if they will do one here?
Bother. I live in Canada. I hope they open this up for canadians as well. And if it becomes open for Canada pleeeeaaassseee include Quebec.
Oh my word!! Even if it WAS in the US- I COULDN'T ENTER!!! WAAAAAAH!!!
Man, I hope a NWebber wins so we can get a report on it! :DD
PLEASE LET THIS COME TO THE US NEXT!!!!!!!!!
Or in other pleaces in the world !!!
Oh man. Why is it 10-16 year olds? How about those older than 16. Man, that's annoying. 🙁
Lol, sounds like it's going to be great fun though! XD
I second that!!!!!
And I'm only 16 for 6 more months, so if the age applies to here, I'll be safe!
*crossing fingers* PLEASE COME TO US!!!!
you know, the U.S. is just as into Narnia as any other country. please, PLEASE come and do something special for the U.S. too!
I'm older than that… 🙁
I wish it was here because i would be in the right age range.
Come to the U.S. and do one for all ages!!! Please!
I second everything everybody else already said!
Most of the competitions (yes, admittedly not voyages) have been only for Americans. Let other people have a turn.
I am only 16 for 2 1/2 more months so they better make it quick!!
im not saying ignore other countries, thats the last im trying to say, but it just doesnt seem like they've done alot for the U.S. lately. i'd wish at least something even small like a expedition, cuz where i live (Austin TX), NOTHING related to Narnia ever happens here.
im sorry if i had sounded rude there. i didnt mean to.
Surely hope this comes to the US soon!
*chanting* USA… USA… USA…
Why am I always too young, or too old?
I bet anyway It's never gonna come to germany.. 🙁
grrrrrrrrr…
I'm with in the range and I have a lot of English blood in me! But I don't think that'll count if you live in the USA. 🙁
There is no worry for me because i have 5 1/2 years left. PLENTY OF TIME!!!!!!!!!!1
I think Fox have been very fair with their promotional competitions so far. So far there has been 1 big promotional competition for the UK, France, Italy and the USA, and im sure they are working their way on getting to other countries soon. Its a welcome change from Disney, who spent the entirety of the last campaign focusing on the USA at the expense of everyone else.
B. R . A. V. O…… BRAVOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lisez "le jeu des erreurs"
Bon !
Je viens de consulter le site de "Okapi" rubrique concours !
En France la participation s'arrêtait hier 13 Août et le voyage avait été programmé du 23 au 29 Août => tout va bien ! comme diarit Lucy The Queen dite "la vaillante"
I there anybody who speaks French?????
not me!
Wow so lucky and cool! Bet they deserve it! Can't believe the movie will be here in 117 days! Really not that far when you think of it! Gosh I really hope Dawn Treader does great so they can do Silver Chair next as well as the others that NEED to be in films! Narnia foreverrrrr!
Narnian resident, no worries mate. I'm not offended. I understand your passion for something Narnian in your part of the U.S.
Icarus, that's very true, although I can't help thinking it would be nice to have a competition for Australia, considering VDT was mostly filmed here (and we're usually missed out). Thanks
my friend does i'll ask him. 🙂
Oh, I signed up!I wish I won! 😀
Ditto! Even if I'm a little too old to participate. I still want it to come to the US! Maybe we would get to see it on the news.
Google performs magnificent translations … such as "Mer Caspienne" for "King Caspian" …. HA HA
Please don't write 4 posts in a row. Also, please write in English on an predominately English-speaking forum. Thanks
hola.. no creen que podrían hacerlo para México??? México!!
hola.. no creen que podrían hacerlo para México??? México!! ojalá que hagan algo especial para México
COME TO THE USA! I AM OLD ENOUGH AURGH! Jk. 🙂 But really, why don't they give us a chance huh? Anyway, I can't wait until the movie comes out 116 days left to go, Iam counting them. 🙂
You are so lucky! 🙂 I hope you win! *pats your back*
maybe he or she dosen't know english, and you can go to bing and use their translator or something if you want, I did with a mexican one but it dosen't give the greatest translations. 🙂 But you get the jist of what they are saying. 🙂
Here is the bing translation, 🙂 It dosent make sense at some parts though. 🙂
Let me point out that in France the school classes is 2 September… This means therefore winning potential competition must be absent a week at this time… And that the contest is started on Okapi/Bayard press, if I understand it… is a log of quality, for good readers / students motivated! Even if this log is widely used (most schools subscribe), dates may be obsttacle for parents!
That said, it's a great idea but I find "Fox" marketing is much more powerful and clever as Mickey marketing! We see the promo mount power in is ^ ppuyant on all potential networks: Christian networks, facebook type networks, the website with the launch of the 2 trailers, and then set and set erruers… for this I announce /. B. R. A. V. O…… BRAVOOOOOOO!
read "the set of errors"
I just visit the site of "Okapi" topic contest! France participation stopped yesterday 13 August and travel had been scheduled from 23 to August 29 => everything is going well! as The so-called "the valiant" Queen Lucy diarit
Yes, I signed up too!
I signed up! dont think i will win though… well heres hoping!
WOW! I am so in that age group! but if only i was in the UK!
I CAN'T Believe it! 115 days to go! I Remember when it was 267days left!!!
I am 13. I have tons of time to wait. But please come to Canada. (including Quebec)
Oh, i hope it comes to the U.S.!!
Hello, I work on The Matthew as crew. We would absolutely love to sail over to the U.S. However, it costs a phenominal amount to get a boat of this sort to cross the Atlantic. So for the time being at least we shall remain, bobbing about around Europe. If you ever find yourself in Bristol. come for a sail. Follow the blog online at http://www.matthew.co.uk.

Oh! I live in Sri Lanka. I hope it will come hear too!
