Operation Narnia: Pack a Shoe Box and Win a Trip to the VDT World Premiere in London!
Operation Narnia is a partnership with the Samaritan’s Purse program, Operation Christmas Child, to bring the joy of Christmas to kids all over the world! This is the perfect opportunity for your family and friends to spread cheer and hope to needy boys and girls in over 130 countries. With your help, our goal is to deliver more than 8 million shoe boxes, filled with items that will be meaningful to a child – toys, stuffed animals, school supplies, hard candy, and hygiene items. These boxes are then delivered to local collection centers around the country and shipped in time for the Christmas season.
Please help by creating a shoe box for a needy child and give the gift of Christmas!
You can visit the website here and watch a video that Georgie Henley (Lucy) narrates.
Also, one major bit of new news included is that the worldwide premiere of VDT will be in London and Operation Narnia is giving away a pair of tickets.
This Christmas, experience the magic and wonder of Narnia – in London! Sign up below, and you and a guest will be entered to win an all-expense paid trip to the Worldwide Premiere of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” at London’s historic Odeon Leicester Square this December.
One lucky winner and a guest will be flown to London, enjoy 3 fun-filled days of sightseeing, 3 nights of hotel accommodations, and conclude their Narnian journey with a trip to the film’s Premiere. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Enter to win here. Contest official rules are here.
Thanks to Liberty Hoffman and Ramagut for the heads up!
yay! this is going to be so awesome!!!!
wow this is so cool!
World Premiere? London? Awww Yeah! The competition seems a bit of a moot point for someone who lives here (aside from the premiere tickets 😉 ) but i might participate anyway just for the good cause 🙂
On the subject of the premiere itself not quite as cool as having it at the O2 (no potential for a boat arrival 🙁 ) like the did for Caspian, and thus there there is no way any of us mere mortals would be able to buy tickets for it this time, but it is the World Premiere this time (no more waiting 2 months after everyone else) so i'm pretty excited about that! 😀
First William and the other popular actors in the Cancer Awareness commercial, and now Georgie in this! Wow, they really are helping people these days!
P.S.: I LOVE her voice!!!
THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Double incentive to do OCC! (I mean, I would have done it anyway, but the possibility of going to London to see the preimere…! That's a bonus!)
AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! That is so cool! Although I am a year to young both of my parents and my two older sisters have promised to take me if they win, which will probably be very unlikely but we can always hope. Keep the story of Aslan alive!!!
HELP! How many times are you allowed to enter….once a day? I looked and could find that info.
Are you allowed to enter if you are younger then 18….do you only want a 18 year old to travel with you?
I love Georgie and her long hair! She's so mature! I love her voice and smile and way of saying things.
Yeah, Operation Christmas! Excellent narration by Georgie! She is more mature. But when was this video made, last fall during or after filming? Georgie doesn't look that old. She's much older looking now, according to the March photoshoot. http://georgie-henley.com
London? Appropriate. Lucky Brits.
I have a question…
it's only for brits ???
I think that Narnia's team is always helping others with many differents ways
like with this kind of things, or whit a book or with a movie i don't know
I like it
@Liberty: so you DID see something at SoulFest! 😀
@Lylanarnianfan: Operation Christmas Child is worldwide. The 'win a trip to the London premiere' contest is only for Americans.
If you look on the entire form one of the requirements is that you have to be older then 18. I hope you only have to have one to travel with but from what I got was that you had to be older then 18 to enter.
I'm glad I'm American! My mom might enter, if I coax and plead hard enough. I'm still a minor. 🙁
And I'm unclear: do you have to pack a Christmas box to enter or not?
Even if we don't enter, our family has been doing OCC since I was in the church nursery (I'm the oldest of four). So we'll do it regardless of Narnia sweepstakes!
And Georgie sounds and looks (for a fifteen and one month year old- exactly!) SO grown up! I'm so glad that she's advocating this! And does anyone else think that she sounds like Marion (Lucy Griffiths) from BBC Robin Hood?
Ya me too HighQueenOfNarnia! Im probably gunna have to Beg for my parents to enter! I hope and Pray that they will enter! and that I could possibly, hopefully win!
We.Are.Getting.Closer.and.Closer.to.the. premeire.EVERY.Single.Day! I Can't Believe it!!! But I will anyway!
i love the shoebox idea! i def want to do it! i love how georgie is narrating the ad.
DEF GONNA ENTER THAT CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm already doing this. Now I'm having difficulty deciding whether it for Narnia tickets now.
>to do
Super-sick!!!
Thanks for removing those 'obscure' comments NarniaWeb.
🙂
so cool! I have been doing Operation Christmas Child for years through my church and school and it's so great! I think Operation Narnia is an excellent idea
Ohhh I want to enter!
OH YEAH I'M ENTERING, MAYBE I'LL WIN *looks at rules* "this sweepstakes is open to residents of the US" oh, ok, forget that then…
Sweet! I participate in Operation Christmas Child every year. It's great to see the people who made the Narnia movies partnering with this incredible program. I'm not sure if I'll enter, as there's no plausible way I'd be able to make that premier.
Oooooh I have tons of unused toys lying around. I'll definitely send a few boxes!! Quick question though – is there another entry with each box sent? Or is it just one entry per person? (This won't effect my gift-giving – I'm just curius. xD)
OMG! This is so awesome 😀
Wow! This is awesome! I love how much the Narnia people are helping people. And my favorite part is that their s=doing the Operation Christmas Child in Christ's name!!!!!!
Um, everything you send has to be brand new. They don't want second hand toys and clothes etc. They want people to go out and buy brand new stuff to pack in the shoeboxes.
Neat-oh!
😀
They ARE new. I should have phrased it differently. I have a lot of toys that were meant for distant nieces, nephews, and cousins, but they never reached their destination and were mailed back to me. They're a few months old now, but never been opened, except for one teddy bear that doesn't have a package but was never used. Those can still be sent, right?
THATS REALLY COOL! But, if I were to win I would want to take both of my parents. Aw well, I guess i will just have to go to the local theater and see the Premiere. But, Tell you the truth I think the shoe box is a cooler thing to do.
And does this apply only for Americans?
Man! Why is it that everyone of these awesome contests are only for US residents! Did they forget the thousands of devoted Lewis fans in that huge neighbouring country to the North? Seriously peeved that Canadians are neglected…
Georgie does such a beautiful job in that video. she so mature and grown up, it made me feel all tingly when she mentioned their first time in Narnia, with it always winter and never christmas, and it immediately set me remembering how she was in that movie, and how little she was, and its just so weird to see her looking so big and mature now. its such a cool thing to watch a person grow and up and see how they change and mature. good job, Georgie!
I know! I wanted to enter but no, its only for America! :'( I will still send a box like every year 🙂
same 🙂
I like this type of movie promotion!
Ditto! 🙂 This is a great idea-I support it totally!
those are fine!!
