‘Dawn Treader’ selected for Royal Premiere
Digital Spy brings us the following news: The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader has been selected for this year’s Royal Film Performance.
The third big screen adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s fantasy saga will get its world premiere in the presence of members of the Royal Family and the movie’s cast and crew in late November.
Dawn Treader is the second movie in the Narnia franchise to be screened for royalty following The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe in 2005. It will also mark the first time a Royal Performance has been shown in 3D.
The annual premieres are the principal fundraising events for The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund, the trade charity for UK film and TV industries. Previous selections include The Lovely Bones, A Bunch Of Amateurs and Casino Royale.
That is so cool!
Whats a Royal Performence?
woooooow! thats cool!
right now I'd love to be a member of the royal family!..
They're going to show the VDT movie for members of the Royal Family? 😮 I sure hope it will be good. I never pictured royalty being interested in Narnia–but what do I know? Anyway, I wish I could be there with them. It would be so cool to see the premiere!
Lucky!! 😀 That's so cool! And what awesome advertising!!
That's cool! This means that I'll (hopefully) be able to get hold of some tickets, after party tickets and a nice looking program…on eBay that is. 😉
Wow, that's awesome! Hopefully, this will really promote the film…
THAT'S SO COOL!!!!!! CONGRATS DAWN TREADER 🙂
Btw, It's probably going to be one of few oppertunities to snap a photo of the Queen wearing 3D glasses. hehe. That would be quite a gem for my collection. Anyone know if the Royal premiere will be held at the Royal Albert Hall as for LWW? (I have a contacts. ;))I know the world premiere will be held at Odeon Leicester Square, but I assume that the Royal premiere is held before the world premiere, which could mean that it's held somewhere elese. *Fingers crossed*.
It's a British classic. A possible reason for the choice.
Cool!
YAY!!!!!! it's so cool that VDT will be part of British movie-making history! I can see it in the film school textbooks now… "as 3D films became more and more mainstream, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader became the first 3D film to be selected for a Royal Film Performance…"
Well. Because this is something that hasn't happened since LWW, may we venture a guess that it's a positive sign?
YAY! GO VDT!!!!!
That's AWESOME!! SO AWESOME! Narnia is so Royal already…and now REAL royalty get to see it! YAY! Go Dawn Treader!
God Save The Queen!! (Literally.)
Yeah, that would be neat!
Late November…..that means they will see it first! They are sooo lucky!
This is going to be great for the movie!
This is so amazing! Great news!!
awsome, i think that this narnia movie will break records in of, fice box!!!!!!!!! Narnia u Rock, i wic to b part of the royal family but we have to waait until december 10 =( lol but im really happy 4 this narnia oportunity yey Gooooooooooooooooooooooooo NARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sweeeet!!! 😀
They need to get Prince Charles to attend, if only for the comical value of getting him to say "I am Prince Charles!" in his best Telmarine accent 😉
Wow! That is so cool.
Awesome!!
That's great
Weird.
Agreed… and since the premieres are fundraising events, the fact that VDT has teamed with a charity organization may have helped in the decision making.
The world premiere of LWW was also selected as the Royal Film Performance back in 2005, so i'd hardly classify it as "weird".
YES!!!!! This is soooooo cool!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Lol. 😉
I certainly hope so 😀
ya la quiero verla en los cine de Colima y de México
"It will also mark the first time a Royal Performance has been shown in 3D." An image of the royal family sitting mesmerized and wearing 3D glasses just rose before my mind's eye. It's kinda funny.
Lol! I wish I could be there to see that! 😀
Also, they absolutely HAVE to get Lord Frederick Windsor and his wife Sophie Winkleman (Adult Susan in LWW) to attend as part of the Royal presence, that would be absolutely perfect 🙂
wow this is awesome! Narnia is so very special that it deserves the royal treatment :-D! haha it'll be funny when the royal family and the cast of the movie wear 3D glasses to watch it! i can just picture it! haha!
oh my goodness that would make my day if he did that 😀
Does anybody know if there's another way to get tickets for the premiere??? Please!
YES!
this is SOOOOOOOOOOO Gunna Break The The Box-Office!!!!!!
WOW The Royal Family wanting to see this movie! This is gunna be AWESOME!
I Still can't believe how much avatar got n the box office! 😛 on avatar.
My thoughts exactly.
Wow! Go Narnia! This is going to be so awesome! I remember watching the Royal Premiere for The Lovely Bones last year on iTunes – it was really neat to see the Royal family interested in that movie, and it's so awesome to see them interested in Narnia too! (for the second time!)
oh . . . The English Royal Family? Like the Queen of England?
The Kings And Queens of Yawnia! 😉
Wow, that's really cool. Quite an honor.
The Royage Of The Yawn Treader
There is no such thing as "The Queen of England" (it's an American mistake). Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second is the queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and all the countries of the British Commonwealth – such as New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
Ohh . . . thank you! That is very interesting! So is the Queen of the Great Britain and the UK is going to see VDT? Cool!
?Es un cine famoso? (Yo tambien!!!)
Wow this is INCREDIBLY AWESOME! Haha, that would be sooooo funny if he did that! The 1st time for a 3D movie to be shown at the Royal Premiere? Double WOW! (I gotta stop using this "word" ;P) Haha I want 2 see them in the 3D glasses! And yes this is going to do justice to the box office!!!! Cool, I didn't know the Lovely Bones was shown there too. (not a fan of the movie, just a fan of Peter Jackson!) @Griffle: you my friend are one obsessed NARNIA merchandise geek. Don't blame you, I'm a geek (mostly LotR) too! 😛
What on earth? Are you poking "fun" at Narnia?! 🙁
love your username, Not of this World. i've got the same thing in mind 😀
Peter Jackson?! woohoo! one of the best directors ever 😀 (of course because he did an outstanding job with Lord of the Rings :-))
The Queen might not watch it. It could be Prince Charles that's there instead.
Maybe i meant who cares.
