Anna to Star in “Hanna”
After we reported earlier today on Will Moseley’s new role in A Great Education, 220ChrisTian contacted us to say that Anna Popplewell has also landed a new movie role in the upcoming Hanna as the character of Sophie Domerc.
Hanna is about a 14-year-old who was raised by her father to be a cold-hearted killing machine. She connects with a French family who look to help ease her into a more conventional life. Starring Eric Bana, Cate Blanchett, and Saoirse Ronan.
UPDATE: Anna was auditioning for the role but was not successful. The role has been given to Jessica Barden.
Cool! I already wanted to see that movie. I didn't know she'd be in though. Nice addition.
After seeing Saoirse Ronan in the Lovely Bones, I am a huge fan. I can't wait to see this!

Wonderful to see Anna acting again. I was afraid she had quit it for good now she's at university. I can't wait, and I must admit I'm far more likely to see this than Will's movie.

she's going to play a fourteen year old? isn't that a bit of a stretch? i mean she's what nineteen now? i will probably go see it, it sounds pretty good, but from what i've heard of the plot it sounds a lot like the movie Serenity, which is one of my all time favorites. This could be either good or bad. But, it is good to see her acting again.

If this movie is any good, I'll be watching it as I have a high respect for both Anna and Saoirse. Oh, btw, if you didn't know this already, Saoirse is pronounced "Seer-sha". It's apparently Irish, and it's my cousin's name. Random comment, sorry. 🙂

Sounds interesting. Glad to hear Anna's doing some film work. I live in the U.S. so I can't see her plays.
This definitely sounds like a better quality and more interesting movie than Will's new movie. But then Anna is the better actor of the two, so no surprise there I guess.
