Narnia Survey Project
We’ve been approached by some scholastic researchers from Regent University who are conducting a study about fan reaction to the first two Narnia films. If you would like to take the survey, you will have a chance to win some great prizes including the Weta bookend set. The survey takes about 20 minutes to fill out. Click here for the survey.
Survey taken. I particularly like the question about how many times you visit a particular Narnia fansite per month. What happens if you're never NOT on? LOL
On my way to take survey…
how many people have I loaned it to?
my answer: "Too precious to loan"
taking it… I especially liked the number of times you have seen these movies. I couldn't figure it out so I put like 50 or so. lol
One thing I didn't like about the survey is that you could only rate one of your fav movies as 5. I technically have all of my fav movies as 5 because I love them all the same amount.
Some of the questions were quite hard to answer.
How many people have I discussed the movies with? Hundreds!
I love that survey! It was really fun!! Thanks Fantasia_Kitty for this news!!
I thought the survery was very well thought out. I especially enjoyed the opportunity at the end to elaborate on my opinions! 😉
Some of these questions were a bit odd. I never wanted to actually reach out and touch Aslan, for instance. :-/
Cool survey, I don't expect to win anything but who knows?
Don't thank me, I didn't post it LOL
I loved filling this out. But why did we have to do the more personal questions?? Also, does anyone know when the drawings will take place?!
HEY! Posting again with a warning, Narnia fans. I finished the survey and clicked "Done" and while it was loading to go to the last page,it said "The webpage you loading is trying to close it's window" and the protection program we use came up saying "A recent attempt to attack your computer was block". Please consider this if you don't have a virus protection program in your computer.
Just took the survey. Choosing a favorite character for each story was very difficult for me. There is more than one that I love in each story througout the series for various reasons. 🙂
Same here – I had to answer disagree on those. I never "forgot" I was watching a movie.
I took the survey. Funny think is I always forget it is a movie when I watch the wolves and I can never watch the the Witch tell Tummus that Edmund turned him in for sweets, I always feel guilty like I am Edmund and I did it, so I have to look down when I watch this part.
"While watching The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe it felt so real that I wanted to reach out and touch Aslan, the beavers, the centaurs, and/or other Narnians" …
Ahaha! I started laughing at that one. 🙂
Haha! "No one touches my little morsel of Narnia…"
Hmm that question about what your favorite movie or movie franchise was at the end was hard. I love Narnia but I had to put Lord Of The Rings for that one!
That was more challenging than I thought. I feel like this survey wasn't meant for me. How many reviews have I written? Gosh, I really don't know. Dozens.
I also think my answers will be mis-leading. Was I mentally involved with the films? Of course! But not necessarily because they were good. It was because I wanted to analyze how they adapted one of my favorite books.
That was a long survey! 100 questions! I also thought some of them were strange. I never felt like I was in Narnia or wanted to be one of the characters. That's more for children, I think. I've seen LWW twice and PC once, and written one PC review.
I took the survey as well. Some of the questions were very leading (a whole bunch of "how much did these movies affect your religious beliefs" stuff) and some weren't really relevant to a wide audience ("did your school encourage you to go see the films?") Well, the books must have affected me more than the films, if only due to reading them as a kid vs seeing the films as an adult and since I'm not currently attending any school… Another bit that felt a bit suggestive for certain answers (but interesting!) was about why I felt Prince Caspian didn't do quite as well at the box office.
Feather~Light~Heart : I didn't get a warning, but after clicking the final "done" button the browser window just closed with no "thank you/survey completed" message. I hope they still got my answers!
I took the survey! I thought it was pretty cool!
I filled it out. But on the question, "Why don't you think Prince Caspian did as well at the Box Office as The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe did?" I think I wrote a novel-length response in the "Other" box 😛
Also, I kept wanting to correct their grammar, spelling, and such. Grammatical errors = one of my pet peeves, haha.
sheesh this is long.
When I click on it, it says "the webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window." ???
Holy cow, how many times are you on a CoN fan site enough? It didn't let me put "incessantly" 🙁
Same here, I tried to put "incessantly" but it didn't let me.
Same here, to both sentances 🙂 I took the liberty to put that I hated not!Peter every possible moment.
Same, if "mentally involved" means "grrrrrr they ruined Peter" then all the way!
lol i liked your answer narnian1. i was thinking the same thing. i shoulda put "can't find the key to the golden case i made for it; cannot loan" =P. wish i could get on Narniaweb forums but i forgot my password and my e-mail account i originally had for it i deleted =S. all in all an excellent, albeit, lengthy, survey! loved it!
see ya around the website,
Narnian-by-heart (ian)
exactly! or asking bout 'my favourite character' for at least 10 questions… what if I like everyone equally and dont have a favourite? oO
thank you for the information!
Yes, it's REALLY long, It was sort of fun though. 🙂
I know; with the forums, the numbers can be quite huge. =P
haha yeah I did the same thing
I know, I was having the same problem. I wish we had been given the ability to elaborate after each question so that I could explain WHY I thought the movie could end differently or why I didn't overly promote PC to others.
You mean "grrr they ruined Peter" and "Why the stupid romance" right? My pet hate was the fact that Trumpkin never knew anything about Caspian, was captured, taken to be killed, says to the kids "What, You're it?" and all that (not knowing about the horn either), then in another scene Peter pipes up and says "You last saw Caspian in the shuddering woods right?" when obviously Movie-Trumpkin didn't even know Caspian and why were they trying to get to him again? It was NEVER explained!!!! Just ticks me off.
This was…thorough. Kind of. It was hard to give exact numbers on how many times I have seen the films, how many people I have discussed them with, etc. I don't think it as engineered specifically for crazy nuts like us. Still good, though I didn't enter to win.
When I use another internet source the windows close when it wants to use a program that is not installed. I had no problems with this survey being turned in though.
I considered the number of people I'd talked to about the movies to be ones NOT online, but it wouldn't let me specify that. I considered every forum post and comment here on my opinion of the movies to be an online review also.
For Narnia, and for Aslan!
I know, they should have had a "How many times do you visit a day" option!
I'm not even american , yet they ask me how much U.S dollar that my parents spend for the gifts and everything that are related to the movie , but still I love Narnia and always will. I wish I could go there , if it is real . 🙁
DONE!!!
When is the drawing?
I didn't take the survey… i'm not very sure how… I watched Prince Caspian, like, 20 times ona round trip flight. I hated it after the 5th time watching it. (I really did watch it that many times, no lies)
One more thing about "Prince Caspian": Did any of you notice that when the Narnians chase Miraz's army and they come to the river and the bridge (right before the river god, Aslan and lucy appear), that the narnian army came out of a mountain when they were supposed to be coming from a battle plain? They couldn't have possible climbed the mountain range, it most likely would have shown them doing so. That was a MAJOR mistake on the Director's part. Please rewatch the movie and comment about that.
