“Ambassador’s Wife at a Party”
NarniaWebber icarus keeps a running thread on the forum of every minor character, extra, and stand-in that he’s found to be involved in the movie (and other members participate as well). We rarely post stories on them, not because they aren’t important, but because there are so many. However, this particular character that icarus ran across has a most intriguing title…
Deena Khargam – Ambassador’s wife at a party, The Chronicals of Narnia: The Voyage of Dawn Treader
All sorts of questions pop up from this single cast role. A party in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader? Where would that fit in? And as she’s a lovely Indian actress, what culture would she be representing as an ambassador’s wife? The Calormen race? Let your speculations begin now!
As always, thanks to icarus for the heads-up!
My first thought is the wife to an ambassador in the Lone Islands. The Lone Islands is supposed to be based off the Italian culture, isn't it? Perhaps Caspian comes storming in and trashes the party! (*thinks she likes that*)
On second thought she probably wouldn't be a native on the Lone Islands. *thwacks self* But I still think it would probably be a party on the Lone Islands.
I'm going with the Caspian-RD's daughter wedding. π
Myabe Govenor Gumpas has a party. Though I have to think more of a party maybe related to Caspian's wedding.
time will tell
This doesn't sound too much of a change. Just a wife at a party. Probably at Gumpas's castle which Caspian spoils. Well, it's no good to hope that the movie will be close to the book as possible, we already know they'll be a LOT of changes. But hey! PC wasn't close to the book at all (I'm exaggerating), but it was still a good movie! π We can still hope it'll be a good movie!
Perhaps she is Lord Bern's wife? She is supposed to be a Lone Islander.
I don't think we know for sure if she's a lone islander or not, but that is plausible. The reason he stayed on the Lone Islands was for love. But then I wonder why they wouldn't just say Lord Bern's wife? He's not really an ambassador. Then again there's really no telling for sure. We'll have to wait and see.
ITS THE LITGK! haha jk. I dont think this is THAT much of a big roll, possibly just an extra at a party, who happens to have some lines in the movie. MAYBE it is the MLG's mother! π hahaha that's not possible. just making up random things here. Only time will tell who she really is! I cant wait until 12-10-10
Yeah, I'm going to say she's of Calormen descent, but I'm just wondering where the party is! Lone Islands is the most likely place, but why a party? What ambassador? Why is his wife important? I mean, she probably won't be any more important than Lightning Bolt the child centaur in PC, but you never know…
hmm, a party? i dont know. oh well i just hope it doesnt mess up things.
Walden Media/Fox, please in the name of Aslan do not ruin this movie. I might have to hunt you down and kill you… lol JK
OOOOHH!
Maybe Governor Gumpas is having a party when Caspian and co. charge in!
Oh wait, people have already suggested this, hahaha
Huh this should be cool. Party is good. The Governor was just in his office in the book. Right? I need to reread them.
I say it's at Galma… I have a suspicion (which I hope will be true) they will develop the thread (or rather event) that is only mentioned in a talk between Caspian and Drinian, which is their stay at Malba, and a tournament. Maybe it will be accompanied by a party, who knows. I hope they will include the tournament, since I think it could be quite interesting, and an occasion to see many lovely decorations, armors and some more culture insights π
Shoot, sorry, meant "Galma", not "Malba", obviously… I got it tangled with a fictional name, sorry! *blushes*
Lol, Malba! I do that sort of thing too, mixing up names. π
And yeah, if there's a party, it could be a great chance to see some good costumes and culture! *claps hands* Of course, as long as it doesn't stray too far from the book.
I hope they don't do that. Simply for the reason that they claim they have consolidated the movie down to taking place on only 5 islands. If Galma was one of those islands, that would mean another island in the book would be cut.
que padre mas actores sisisisisisi me facina
bye.
There are a couple of Calormen merchants mentioned in the Lone Island story that turn up just after Caspian seizes control.
Perhaps she`s one of their wives or they assume a somewhat more ambassadorial role in the film.
Maybe she could be in a party after Caspian makes things right in the lone islands.
Maybe she's the wife of an ambassador in Galma. Drinian said that they stopped at Galma for a tournamenet.
Perhaps Gumpas has become a party animal?
it might must be an Lone Island ambassador.. after all, most of the human Narnians now are Telmarine descended. Although I guess she could be Calormene too.
Hm…I'm looking forward to seeing this unravel! I'm guessing she's a Calormene from Galma or the Lone Islands (probably the latter, given that other islands have already been cut; not likely they'd add more back in). Probably Gumpas will be holding a party, Caspian will burst through the doors, flip his hair, strike a hero pose, and announce: "I am Plince Caspeun."
JK. Congratulations to Ms. Khargam, I look forward to seeing her onscreen.
I am praying they have Caspian's wedding!!!
lol. flip his hair! haha! π
king Caspian now actually. π
I like the Gumpas party idea, too. π
Does anyone think that she could be a woman at a party for Eustace's parents? Depending on how much they want to expand the beginning before the picture of the ship, of course.
