Mill Film to Work on Dawn Treader FX
Last month Cinesite was announced to have won the big contract for working on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader visual effects. We have now learned that a second VFX company, Mill Film, has also been hired to work on the movie. NarniaWeb spy JimS pointed out their website to us which has this announcement on it:
Mill Film is pleased to announce that it has recently been awarded work on the next installment of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Will Cohen, Group Director of Mill Film, said, “We are extremely excited to be involved with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader along with the opportunity to work with the mulit-award winning team of Angus Bickerton, Visual Effects Supervisor and Barrie Hemsley, Visual Effects Producer.”
You can read the whole announcement on The Mill’s website here and click on the TV and Film link at the top left.
Thanks to JimS for the heads-up!
Well, that's good. Having two people work on it will make the process go faster, and probably make is look better!
hmm, curious, i wonder what aspect of the film they will be working on.
i read on their site that they do the vfx for Dr Who. impressive. looking forward to what they can do to make VODT come to life.
Well, that's cool. Never heard of Mill Film before though. Does anyone know of any movies they've done? I hope they do a great job in helping VDT become awesome. Sail on VDT!
all i hope for is that they're good visual affects people and know how to make this movie amazing! i've never heard of them before, i never know anything about anything.
Yeah They definitely have to have good special effects. I'm curious just how much special effects are in the movie, probably quite allot. Does anyone know what credentials these guys have that would be sufficient inducement for them to be picked up for a big movie like this?
Cool! SAIL ON VDT! ๐
This is very interesting! I've never heard of Mill Films before, but they must be pretty good, or else Walden Media wouldn't have hired them. They tend to shoot for only the best in most of their movies. So cross your fingers and pray, everybody, that they do a spectacular job!
hmmmm interesting.
Mill films? i've never heard them but i hope they dowe good Further up and further in
That is exciting!
Sail on Dawn Treader!!!!!!!! ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
That awesome!!!!!!! ๐
yay! now the process should go faster!
YAY! PROCESS!
YAY!!!!! WOW I havn't been on here in a long time =D
I hope they choose the right people to do Aslan's animation.
We need to pray for them.
they worked on Gladiator, also the tv series Merlin and Dr. Who
there's more important things to pray about than something as insignificant as who does animation work on a movie
Hopefully…
Good! It's probably a load off of Cinesite now that Mill Film is helping.
Yeah, but even though there is more things, we should still pray for them.
We should pray for the entire cast, crew and everyone working on VDT!
Mill films??
Check out their reel, this is exiting, they seem to get two very important things 1. capturing the human spirit 2. imagination. I am very excited about this http://www.beam.tv/beamreel/xzPKHmqtYD
I agree with King Skander the Just! ๐
cool! I hope they do a good job!
Sweet! Good find, JimS! This sounds absolutely fabulous! I love Narnia.
Interesting. This will either be really good or bad…. let us ponder this. ๐
I second that. I'm all for praying, regardless of insignificance (am I the only one here who prays that I'll retain my test prep studies?).
and maybe make the release date come a little faster…hopefully!
Oh yeah! I've seen Merlin! Good show. They aren't bad.
Me too. I never thought of that. I'll pray for them and the cast and crew.
The way Aslan is portrayed is very important to me. Some of the time in PC he felt more like a kindly old gentleman than Aslan,to me. Because most people who know about the series know that Lewis intended Aslan to represent God in Narnia, it is very important that his expressions match what they are in the book.
I realized after PC came out that I hadn't prayed for it very much, sure, I'd prayed for the actors and crew, but not the film.
If whoever does the work is a Christian we should pray he or she will know exactly what to do.
If he or she isn't one, we should pray this will be a witness to them and that God will use whatever outcome to His glory.
No, your not alone. lol…I do the same thing…all the time… ๐
lol im last
there will be more than two people working on the visual effects. ๐
Pizarro!!!!!! That's not nice! Aslan's animation IS important. And no thing is to small or trival to talk to God about. He cares about what we care about.
