The Future of the Dawn Treader Ship
Now that filming has completed at Cleveland Point, many are wondering what will become of the gorgeous ship, the Dawn Treader. GoldCoast.com.au has a story on it.
It took crews more than two months to assemble the immaculate Dawn Treader ship on location at Cleveland.
Mr Malik said once filming was completed, it would be stripped down and shipped back to the Coast.
“It will be put back together inside one of the stages because we need it for sequences that will have it surrounded by a blue screen.
“We still have to shoot a storm sequence and an attack sequence with it.
“Then what happens to it after filming entirely? Well, that’s the million-dollar question. I’ll say one thing: it won’t be scrapped.”
Filming of the blockbuster officially reached the halfway mark today and is scheduled to finish ahead of its November wrap date.
So there you have it. The Dawn Treader will head back to the Gold Coast (which we knew) and be rebuilt inside the studios (which we didn’t know) and then after that, its fate is undetermined, but it won’t be scrapped!!
You can read the full story here at GoldCoast.com.au.
im so happy it won't be scrapped!
Really Glad for that info. The Dawn Treader is a really special ship. I wonder what they are going to do to it after filming…Maybe sell it on ebay 🙂
~Further up and Further in~
Definitely good to here that it wont be scrapped; perhaps this means there is a chance I'll be able to see it some day. 😉
Hopefully the "attack sequence" is referring to the serpent scene and not some sort of battle. *insert worried smiley here*
I too am happy that it still has a bit to go, though afterwards it will most likely be torn apart.
"We still have to shoot a storm sequence and an attack sequence with it." I'm glad to hear it! The attack is hopefully from the sea monster, and the storm, I have no idea.
Didn't you read this?
“Then what happens to it after filming entirely? Well, that’s the million-dollar question. I’ll say one thing: it won’t be scrapped.”
I don't think they plan on tearing it apart. 🙂
Praise the Maker! The Dawn Treader will not be scrapped! I would weep for hours if she was. I just cannot think of that beauty being torn to pieces! Perish the thoughts! Wow storm and attack sequence? I wonder who is attacking? The sea monster? Or something or someone else… Well I guess we got to wait and see. <sigh> I hope they put out a trailer soon. I want to see her on the seas SOOOO bad! And I want to find out who the MLG is. I fear I may burst with excitement! Go Narnia spies and Sail on VDT! 😀 😉 🙂
i think they should put in the narnia expedition
im more happy they are keeping the storm!
YAHOOOOOOO!!! SHE AIN'T GOING DOWN! XD
YAYAYAYAY She won't be scrapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was a storm which raged for 12 days in the book (though Eustace thought it was 13)
Hurrah!!!!!!!She might make it to a museum or something.
I am happy that The ship won't be taken apart for good.
Is Filming finished all ready?!
I think that the battle scene is the sea serpent, because blue screens are normally used in conjunction with computer animation. If they're halfway done with filming already, maybe the film might come out earlier than we thought. Let's hope so.
No, filming isn't finished yet… it is halfway done though. I'm glad that they will be getting done ahead of schedule… it means more time for editing and making the final product even better!
Well, if they don't want it, I'll be more than happy to take it! lol. Still, it's a good thing it won't be scrapped. Now that would be a bummer…
Im happy their keeping the storm too.
Yay!
I'm glad it won't be scrapped! Perhaps it will be in an exhibition somewhere …
Hey! How about Narnia amusement park like SeaWorld? That be a hoot!
*weeps with joy* It wont meet the same end as the Millennium Falcon prop after filming Return of the Jedi.
Aaah, so gorgeous. There's a news story on Skandar's website that finishes with "The boat is even more magical than in the pictures posted by fans on the internet so wait till you see the film!", so I'm excited to see the finished product. So glad it won't be scrapped, though. That would be a real shame. Sail on, literal and figurative DT!
I'm glad to here that they are going to film a storm scene, 😀 but I'm a little bit worried about the attack. Hopefully, it's a reference to the Sea Serpent.
I know that it's just an expression, but perhaps "the million dollar question" is reference to how much it is to buy… 😛
Does anyone know if they plan to add Eustace's journal entries in at all? Or, maybe act a few scenes from his entries? I mean, the journal entries of Eustace really tell alot about his character. lol
I'm so happy I could cry!!!!!!! I'm so relived it won't be destroyed! I understand why they did it but I was heartbroken when they tore down Edoras from Lord of the Rings in New Zealand! This gives me hope that someday maybe me and my family can set foot on the deck of the Dawn Treader!!!!!!!!
they should put it in a museeam so people can see it in real life.i know i would pay big bucks to see that gigantic ship.its like seeing narnia before your very eyes.it would be like a dream come true. and after they make all the seven movies they should make a big narnia musseam with props from all the seven movies.and maybe even a theme park like they are doing for the harry potter movies.but of course much BETTER!!!!!I LOOOOVEEEEE NARNIA.
agreed! I hope they are referring to the sea serpent, and not another type of attack. I'm happy for the storm.
and as long as they aren't scrapping it,
I'd like to know what will be done with it.
I'd like a piece of that actually 🙂
Glad the Dawn Treader will be preserved.:) :ymapplause: The storm and hopefully it will be the Sea Serpent attack for the water tank filming.
Haven't seen evidence yet of the Dark Island scene. Maybe that will be done there as well.
YEA!!!! I'M SOOOO HAPPY THAT THEIR NOT GOING TO GET RID OF IT!
I'll keep it!
me to
I love the DT! 🙂
Oh, relief! This sounds good!
They should make it a tourist attraction.
Yeah, that's great! And I'm hoping that the "attack sequence" is with the sea serpent. *crosses fingers hopefully* Then at least those parts would be following the book. Whoops, pessimistic comment! No, I'm looking forward to the movie. *still crosses fingers*
Oh, and I'm happy the ship won't be scrapped! That would be a huge waste, and a big shame! It's so gorgeous! If only I had the money, I would buy it and sail away….You could all be my crew. Or you could buy it, and I'll be in your crew. 🙂 Oh, wishful thinking….
Skandar said that? YIPPEE!!! I can't wait for the movie! But I'll settle for the trailer! Please come quick!
that would be cool! 🙂
I'm glad they're not going to just get rid of it! SAIL ON VDT!!!! 😀
hurray! she won't die! 😛 😀
I'm jumping 4 joy for the storm and the no-scrapping allowed!!! YYYEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Sail on, Dawn Treader! CCCAAANNNOOOTTTT wait 4 the MOVIE!!!!!! Aslan is on the move.
Me too! It would be practically a crime to destroy such a beautiful work of art.
Praise God!!! It would be such a shame to destroy her.
I would DIE to go on the Dawn Treader!
A sea-traveling Narnia museum. That's my bet. 😛
Thank goodness! i was worried about what they would do to her. *Is so happy she allmost faints, /ALLMOST/* It would be horrible if they tore her apart… i'm so glad they're not!
Half way through filming allready? WOWSERS!
DT is such a beautiful ship so of course it would be useless if the y scrap. But this is such a good news!!YAY!!!
Whoohoooo!!!!! I'm so happy – I was so scared they were just going to tear it apart! And now they're not! Yaaayyy!!!! Ohmegosh, that just made my day 😀
Hehe! If you died, you wouldn't be able to go on the Dawn Treader! lol.
They just finished filming the ship moments at Cleveland Point. But, they're moving over to the Gold Coast to continue the ship parts.
Aslan is on the Move!
I would cry if I built that ship and then they tore it apart… :'(
Me too! And I am also glad that they still have a few scenes left to shoot on the Dawn Treader. I couldn't believe that they were already finished! So much happens aboard that ship…
it would break all of our hearts if they scrapped it. wow they're already halfway done? i didnt know it could be that short. i thought movies always took a long time, some even a year!
i agree! they should donate it to Disney World as a tourist attraction! or put it with a narnia museum and put it outside. omg that would be so cool!
Ooh! Pick me!! I want to be in your crew Starlilly 😀
They should put it in Disneyland in America!!!!!!! 🙂
Totally worth it! I mean if it were me, I would TOTALLY keep that ship! No use of getting rid of something THAT incredible. For two months, definetly a keeper! Yay, that is awesome to hear!
They're already half way through filming? Wow..
So glad they're keeping the ship though 🙂
I'm glad that it won't be scrapped because it's a beautiful ship and I'd love to be able to see it some day!
Sure Empress! Wouldn't it be fun? A whole crew of Narnia fans on a real-life Dawn Treader! I wish it could happen…because it would be so much FUN!!! At least I can daydream about it. 😛
