GoldCoast.com.au has posted news about The Voyage of the Dawn Treader filming that went on earlier today at the Wharf set.

Entering the set of The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader is like being transported to another, stranger world.

‘Village people’ in clothing from a bygone age wander around against a backdrop of what appears to be a medieval wharf.

Nearby, director Michael Apted works on a scene with one of the stars, Will Poulter, who stands on a boat rattling off lines in a thick English accent for his role as Eustace Scrubb.

But a closer look reminds one that the magic of Hollywood is at work; the ‘medieval’ walls are really made of plaster and the man doing the dangerous scenes for Gumpas, the Governor of the Lone Islands, is a stunt double with a strong Kiwi accent [pictured right].

Also, 9 Gold Coast News was invited onto the set for filming. Here is their news story. (YouTube link)

And finally, NarniaWeb spy ‘myartismylife’ snapped these pictures of the Narrowhaven wharf set. In the book, this is where our heroes are captured to be sold as slaves.

Then they were rowed out to the slave-ship and taken below into a long, rather dark place, none too clean, where they found many other unfortunate prisoners; for Pug was of course a pirate and had just returned from cruising among the islands and capturing what he could. The children didn’t meet anyone whom they knew; the prisoners were mostly Galmians and Terebinthians.
