Prince Caspian Rules Japan’s Box Office
From Variety.com:
According to distrib Walt Disney Japan, the second pic in the “Narnia” series raked in $8.2 million in its first five days on release from 656,222 admissions and 778 screens.
The C.S. Lewis novels on which “Caspian” and its predecessor are based have not reached the sales heights of the “Harry Potter” series. But the “Narnia” books are widely read in Japan, which has long been a good market for Brit fantasy fiction and its pic spin-offs.
The earnings in Japan are not yet listed on Box Office Mojo, so this is on top of the $118.8 Million worldwide listed this morning.
