’Veggie Pirates’ Characters Inspired By Narnia

According to VeggiePirates.com, some characters in “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie” were inspired by characters from Narnia. Click here, then click ’About the Film,’ and then ’About the Characters.’ Towards the end, it says: “The more imaginative characters were inspired by classic fantasies and nautical stories, such as C.S. Lewis’ ’Voyage of the Dawn Treader’ from his ’Chronicles of Narnia’ series.” Phil Vischer (Screenwriter, Veggie co-creator) and Mike Nawrocki (Director, the other co-creator) have mentioned Narnia in the past in Veggie commentaries and interviews, so this isn’t surprising to me. “Veggie Pirates” hits theaters this Friday (January 11).
