Phil Anschutz Wins in Cussler Case
MSN writes: Denver financier and [Walden Media owner] Phil Anschutz emerged with a partial victory after a four-month-long civil suit in Los Angeles ended Tuesday. Jurors ruled best-selling author Clive Cussler wronged Anschutz’s production company when it came to the movie adaptation of his book “Sahara,” and ordered Cussler to pay $5 million in damages. Anschutz, who has enjoyed considerable success with film adaptations of other books, including “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” didn’t testify during the civil trial.
