Short Actors Gain Stature
USA Today is running a piece on the acting careers of Little People, and they mention Peter Dinklage, who has been cast as Trumpkin in Prince Caspian. Peter Dinklage’s star turn in 2003’s acclaimed indie film The Station Agent transformed him into a sex symbol and a busy career, with a romantic role last season on FX’s Nip/Tuck and several upcoming films, including Penelope with Reese Witherspoon and the British comedy Death at a Funeral. He’s now filming The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Despite their breakthroughs, short actors complain there’s a dearth of regular roles outside of comedic foils, Christmas elves or as child actor stand-ins. “Obviously, everything needs to move forward a bit in Hollywood,” says Dinklage, 37. “It’s certainly getting a lot better.
