Belfast Taxi Driver Offers C.S. Lewis Tour
Belfast taxi driver Ken Harper is offering city tours based on the life and times of C.S. Lewis, who was born there in 1898. Visitors see the Edwardian house (not open to the public) where the author of “The Chronicles of Narnia” lived as a child; the site of his birthplace; the church where he was baptised, the lion’s head door knocker that inspired him; and a statue of Lewis peering into a wardrobe, among other locations. Harper, who is very knowledgeable about the author, also runs ’political’ tours of Belfast, which include the evocative wall murals in residential areas. Thanks to Forbe for the info.
