Little People Cast in Narnia Film
Kiwi Casting Director Liz Mullane (who collaborated with Peter Jackson on LOTR, and repeats those duties on his current project, KING KONG, which begins filming in Wellington next Monday) has cast seven short people (p.c. term, small-statured) for Andrew Adamson’s ‘THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE.
All seven arrived in New Zealand last weekend…four are from India and three from Thailand…Mullane looked at over 30 people before choosing these specific seven, two of whom appeared in Jackson’s LOTR.
All seven will be part of the Red and Black Dwarf Armies in the film, and will undergo prosthetic makeup processes under the supervision of veteran Hollywood special makeup artist Howard Berger and his staff from KNB EFX Group, the renowned makeup team that has worked on such projects as Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill, Vol. 1 and 2,” Robert Rodriguez’s “Spy Kids” trilogy and “Once Upon A Time in Mexico,” Steven Spielberg’s “Amistad,” and “Minority Report” and Jay Roach’s “Austin Powers in Goldmember.”
KNB just completed work on the Jim Carrey starrer, “Lemony Snickets Series of Unfortunate Events,” Rodriguez’s latest, “Sin City,” “House of Wax” for producer Joel Silver, Roach’s highly-anticipated comedy sequel “Meet the Fockers” and “Serenity” for director Joss Wheadon.
