Anniversary Edition of the Books to Release
Harper Collins is releasing a new, hardcover copy of The Chronicles of Narnia for the 60th anniversary of the release of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. This all-in-one copy will release in October of this year. For more information, visit Harper Collin’s web site, here. Thanks to Insurrbution for the heads up!
So cool, I wonder how much it will cost?
Awesome! but i have my own copies!
You can pre-order it on Amazon for $63.
*sigh* I wish I could afford it. It looks loverly.
I'm pretty sure this has been reported before by icarus.
I would get it if it were $20…but $63 is
quite a lot of money for a book. I would rather get a less expensive version, then get other books.
But I'll always keep an eye on it, on the internet.(amazon, ebay) and hope a good price will come up!!
About 4 and a half monthes left YEAH!!!!!!
60 years of Narnia, cool!
Very nice edition. But I have the Barnes and Noble Leatherbound edition, which I think is incredibly beautiful. And for only $20.00.
I don't want another one-volume edition (or the individual books) unless they are in original publication order. I'm one of those fans, haha. Seeing as though they probably won't revert back to that order, I think the only way to please everyone would be to leave the numbers off the individual books on the spines, perhaps only number inside the cover somewhere. That way, readers could display them on their shelves in any order they choose. Until something like that happens, it's a no buy for me. I'll keep my copies from 1970, as beaten up as they are.
looks great, but i already have a hardcover one-volume edition that looks better. love it that they're celebrating a certainly special occasion though 🙂
Stunning, truly lovely, but also much too expensive; and I've already got three different editions of the Narnia books.
yeah! i have a hardcover edition that looks way better than that, and of course it was less than $60! whenever i see things like this being sold through only special order and such, im always like, "Ha! i can get something like that at (walmart, target, barnes and noble, etc.) for a third of that price, and maybe even in better quality!"
oh wait, it says $100. that makes our editions even better 🙂
I'm one of those fans too. 🙂 I bought the reprint of the first edition of LWW. I'd like the Anniversary set if they are in publication order. If not, I hope they do all the others in reprints of the first edition.
Very expensive, but they'll probably have them cheaper elsewhere on the internet.
Only problem: I bet the books are in the wrong order.
I know a lot of people will disagree with me, and that's okay, but I personally like the new order better anyway. Also, I don't care as much for the old versions of the American editions before they changed the order, because those don't even call "Maugrim" by his right name! Those call him Feris something or other…I don't care for that much, I have to say.
Amazon already has this available for pre-order for $63. http://www.amazon.com/Chronicles-Narnia-60th-Anniversary/dp/0061721085/
I'd like to see more of what it looks like on the inside. I can live with the order and read it the "right" way. 🙂
Meh. I'd rather get VDT stuff when they come out. Hopefully the Narnia Cookbook will get reprinted too.
that costs a lot.. 🙁
One word for you guys: EBAY
Book Order? I wouldn't thinks so. Then again . . .
Cookbook? Hey I know a cookbook in Narnia! Lets see . . . ahh now I remember . . . Mallard, Man, Marsh-wiggle . . . 🙂
If it's the 60th anniversary edition, does that mean the books are in the published order? After all, it's the 60th anniversary of LWW, not MN.
SO COOL!! I will so want to read that!
Get I ment get, I do want to read it to but I ment get, sry
They called him Fenris Ulf… I know there's a good reason why, but sadly I have no idea what it is, but I think it had something to do with C.S. Lewis making up two names for the same wolf… maybe.
Well, it sounds nice, but I have one complete set, and that's all I really need! I mean, what's the point of having two different copies of the same book?
so awesome! will have to buy it!!!!
According to "Companion To Narnia", Fenris Ulf is the name of a wolf in Scandinavian mythology. Maybe Lewis thought this name was a better choice and changed it for that reason, but I disagree. I've always preferred Maugrim, and I'm glad the BBC and Walden Media kept the original name in their film adaptations.
No, the Narnia Cookbook by Douglas Gresham. Click on my name to find out.
Once again, WHO CARES!!! I'm waiting for someting I-N-T-E-R-I-S-T-I-N-G to be on Narniaweb!!!!
Patiece. . .patiece Narnian Meerkat. . .that's the key. . .
There's ALOT more important stuff in the world than Narnia.
Well that looks terrible.
yeah tottaly people are way over reacting over a NEW (oooh speacial) set of books we've all read like a bijilion times.
